Web Portfolio (e-portfolio) Design and Development for
Teachers and Professors

Audience
This course is for teachers, professors, and administrators from all disciplines and levels who are interested in creating a digital portfolio and posting it to the internet.

Description
This course provides the k-12 or college educator with a creative opportunity to develop a multimedia
based electronic (digital) portfolio that is uploaded and viewable from the World Wide Web (web portfolio).
Instruction includes conceptualization and categorization of assets and artifacts for portfolio development and technology lab tutorials in the use of digital imaging, MS Office, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver to output
to web pages. Software instruction will focus on how to use Adobe Acrobat for .PDF generation, Dreamweaver
for web page development and FTP (file transfer protocol) Adobe Photoshop for graphics, and conversion of
MS Word and MS PowerPoint documents into web assets. Teachers and professors will gain an in-depth understanding of the role of the electronic portfolio in the context of their discipline, career, and lifelong learning process. Every participant finishes the course with a Web Portfolio posted to the Internet.

Objectives and Skills
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Understand why the electronic portfolio is an important tool for lifelong learning
and communication.
• Conceptualize and plan an electronic teacher portfolio.
• Evaluate and execute artifact content collection decisions and processes.
• Develop assets and thematic content.
• Use industry standard software packages  including Dreamweaver, MS Word, PowerPoint,
and Photoshop for design, content development, and web site authoring.
• Participants will upload a web portfolio to the internet and burn a CD-Rom of their
web portfolio.  

 

Creative Presentation Skills Using Powerpoint

members who want to increase their problem solving ability through creative and critical thinking

Description
Using information organization and conceptualization techniques, participants learn methods for
developing concepts and establishing images and messages for creative communications.
Providing successful strategies for developing creative communications using PowerPoint, this
course is an insightful examination into understanding how conceptualize and generate documents and
presentations that focus on persuasion and elicit positive action from the audience. Participants work
